About Me

Please allow me to introduce myself

I am currently a 7th grade science teacher at a charter school in North Carolina. (Click here to see my classroom) I grew up in Troy, Michigan and attended Oakland University, where I obtained degrees in English and Biology. Before moving to North Carolina I did a year of student teaching at A.C.E. alternative high school in Rochester, Michigan. I also gained experience as a substitute teacher in many schools throughout southeastern Michigan for 2 years, including a long-term position as Detroit Arts & Sciences Academy in Detroit. I am currently working toward my Master's Degree at Michigan State University, with an anticipated graduation date of December, 2015. I have been teaching 7th grade science at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy for 6 years. Click here to visit my classroom website. Outside of education I have many other hobbies including snuggling with my 6 pets (3 cats and 3 dogs), running, listening to music, and spending time with my husband. I am also slightly obsessed with dinosaurs.
